Bucerias is the central point of the longest stretch of beach on the entire Bay of Banderas and is just north of Nuevo Vallarta. Surf is generally quite calm allowing for easy swimming and a bit of boogy-boarding. The flat beach is perfect for great long walks and beach-combing.

You will feel quite at home in this charming ocean-side town with the amenities essential to a wonderful vacation: good restaurants, from excellent Mexican fare, international fine dining to fabulous pizza-many with live music at least once a week-good happy hour spots and a variety of shops.

Activities in the immediate area include water sports and deep sea fishing, eco-tours such as include jungle river kayaking and whale watching, and seven golf courses within five to 25 minutes. Guided tours are available into the surrounding mountains and jungles or take a sunset cruise on the ocean. Of course you can just relax under a palm tree on the beach with a good book.

The night life, shopping and dining of Puerto Vallarta are an easy 20-minute ride away, while Nuevo Vallarta is just 10 minutes away. Both taxis and buses have frequent service along the new four-lane highway. Excellent local car rental services are available so you can independently explore the small villages which dot the coast and the hills surrounding the bay.
